It’s that time of year again folks!
The third weekend in September (14th – 16th) sees the Rotary Club of Elland presenting its fourth annual Vintage and Community Weekend.
On Friday night, Baines Hall at Elland Cricket Club is transported back to the 1940’s for an RAF Hangar Dance themed evening of dancing and entertainment. There’ll be prizes for the guests in the best Forties attire, a sumptuous three course dinner followed by fantastic live entertainment from the hugely talented local girl group “The Nightingales.” Hurry up and book your tickets now at www.ellandrotary.co.uk
Sunday is the main event – taking place at Elland Cricket Club – it’s the Community Fair. And this year is set to be better than ever before with our motor show featuring vehicles from the past to the present day; stalls in the Vintage Village; Family attractions from fairground rides to birds of prey displays. There’ll be a dog show from the Halifax & Huddersfield RSPCA where you can bring along your furry friends to win prizes. There’ll also be circus skills and animal petting stalls and of course the ever popular food court. Other attractions planned for the day include tomahawk throwing and ferret racing!!
Weather permitting, the highlight of our day will be a flypast by an RAF Dakota. Plus the Yorkshire Air Ambulance will be on site throughout the day (operating conditions permitting.)
Our community fair is one of the best priced family days out in the area with a family ticket admitting four for just £10. Concessions available on the gate. Doors open at 10am.
Across the weekend, the Rotary Club of Elland will be raising awareness and funds for The RAF Association, Yorkshire Air Ambulance & Overgate Hospice as well as other local good causes so please come along and enjoy this fantastic fun filled family day out.
